Another hair care review but on a luxury item that went wild.
As far as I'm aware their is three treatments in the Olaplex line. Number one is to be mixed in with the concoction of creating hair bleach or developer / colour. Number two is a shampoo / conditioner that is used after the colouring process has been finished and washed out. Number three which is the treatment I have been using is the only Olaplex that can be sold to customers as only professionals hair stylists can have access to the numbers one and two.
Treatment three is an at home product. It can be found online and can be sold in certain hair salons. My salon does stock the number three treatment but I am always forgetting to ask for a bottle so I luckily found mine at a really good price on a website called Beauty Bay as each treatment can be rather costly.
Ive been wanting to try the treatment as I have heard mixed reviews on the product and I wanted to get my own thoughts and opinions on the matter and because since I am planning to go back blonde and that means getting my hair bleached regularly, that means I'm going to need all the help I can get. FYI i have gone back blonde but with a twist. I went to see my friend / stylist and she was able to help get rid of that gingery brown mess I created when I striped my hair when it was dark brown. My intention was to go back to a golden blonde and to help lift out all the unwanted colour so I had my whole head scalped bleached. After finishing with a toner I was left with a white platinum blonde look which at first I was shocked about but then fell in love with it. I feel like I'm either a Malfoy or a Targaryen.
The number three treatment is to be used on damp hair before any shampoo or conditioner. I would gently dampen my hair - not dripping wet, and coat my entire hair with the olaplex making sure I cover my entire hair from scalp to the ends of my hair. Their is no limit time to leave it on for so you could leave it on for as long as you want. After having it in my hair for the desire time for me I would then jump in the shower, rinse it all out and then do the normal routine of shampoo and conditioner.
Final thoughts
I think that although it was a good treatment for my hair and I do feel a slight difference, I must admit that I have tried better and more affordable products on the high street. I think its just one of those things that when you hear of a big brand or company and it gets tons and tons of attention everyone just seems to go crazy and jump on the band wagon. We are all guilty for a boujee product.
