Shadowhunters The Infernal Devices

Another book review but it's a trilogy this time

As you can tell it's a book series that relates to my last book review on a previous post from last year. It's a prequel series to the the Mortal Instruments which is again authored by the brilliant Cassandra Clare.

This prequel series is set in London during the reign of Queen Victoria. It follows the story of a girl called Tessa Grey and her adventures of travelling from America to London and her encounters with the supernatural world of shadowhunters - half human, half angel species.
If you have read the mortal instruments series, you will remember that her character is briefly mentioned but does not go into detail much about who she is and what links her to the shadow world.
In this series it explains everything you need to know about her from begining to end.

Tessa Grey comes to London to find her brother who is missing, and she is soon drawn into conflict between the shadowhunters and the downworlders which has ties to her missing brother. Secrets, deceptions, lies and heartbreak are the best words to describe this series. As Tessa is drawn into this secret world of madness, she soon realises that the world and people she has ever know is much much more then she could have possibly dreamed of. But what Tessa doesn't know is that she has secrets too, secrets that could change the way she sees herself, secrets that could be sued for good or evil.  And she must also deal with falling in love, but not just one man, but two. Two men who are not just best friends, but who are also bonded by the strong connection of Parabatai. She must choose one or the other, if not, she will have neither.

It also goes back and explains other members of the Shadowhunter families aka the Herondales, the Lightwoods and even mentions the family of Fairchild, which is the surname of the main female character in the Mortal Instruments  - Clary Fairchild.

This trilogy really did draw me in after the Mortal Instruments. I must admit I couldn't put these books down. Every chance I got I just had too kip on reading, chapter after chapter.

If your into the dark fantasy world supernatural, then you must give these books a read. I promise, you won't be disappointed.
